IGIC and ZEC
IGIC and ZEC: Significant Tax Incentives
Tenerife does not apply VAT, but rather the IGIC (Canary Islands General Indirect Tax) with a general rate of 7%. Furthermore, companies registered in the ZEC do not pay IGIC on supplies to each other or on imports. Companies that meet certain requirements and register in the ZEC benefit from a corporate rate of 4% on the gross tax base on operations carried out materially and effectively in or from the Canary Islands, among other advantages.
